UrgentMD was founded by Dr. Alan Azuelos and Dr. Jonathan J. Cooperman,

who have a combined 40 years of emergency and executive medicine experience.

General Information 
& Visit Requirements

Appointments at UrgentMD are not required but are highly recommended to ensure a fast and efficient experience. Members can book appointments in three convenient ways:
1. By calling our reception at 514-329-1999
2. Using our online booking platform
3. Walking in and booking in-person at our clinic

For your first visit to UrgentMD, please bring your Medicare card and any relevant medical information or records from your previous physician to ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of your medical history. Additionally, our doctors have access to the Dossier Santé Québec (DSQ), which provides us with information on all recent prescriptions and test results taken in Quebec.

UrgentMD is open seven days a week, including holidays, with the exception of Christmas and New Year’s Day. Our clinic hours are:
– Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
– Weekends: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Additionally, our members benefit from around-the-clock access to TELUS Virtual Care, which is available 24/7/365.

UrgentMD is a private clinic and is not part of the RAMQ network, enabling us to treat non-Quebec residents, immigrants, and visitors who are not eligible for RAMQ coverage. For Quebec residents, we have off-RAMQ practitioners available. Our services are accessible to both non-RAMQ and RAMQ-eligible individuals who seek private care.

At UrgentMD, our goal is to provide a fast and top-notch experience for all our patients. With a booked appointment, you can expect to be seen within 5 minutes of your scheduled arrival time. Please note that this is subject to any unforeseen emergencies that may arise.

You can provide feedback directly to your physician or send it privately to careteam@urgentmd.ca. Additionally, all patients receive a satisfaction survey after their visit to ensure we consistently listen to feedback and maintain top-quality service.

Yes, UrgentMD provides COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. We also offer flu vaccinations, and our staff can assist you in scheduling your vaccination appointment.

At UrgentMD, our team comprises highly qualified healthcare professionals across two main divisions:

– Predictive Care Division: Staffed with family physicians and nurse practitioners who conduct annual physical exams and manage required follow-ups.
– Urgent Care Team: Consists of emergency practitioners who are on hand to address all acute episodic issues on the same or next day.

This integrated approach ensures comprehensive care coverage tailored to both ongoing health management and immediate medical needs.

While UrgentMD is not a pediatric clinic, we are equipped to treat individuals aged 16 and older. For younger children, we recommend consulting a pediatric specialist.

Yes, our healthcare practitioners provide mental health support, including consultations, monitoring and medication when needed. If specialized care is required, we can also provide a referral to a mental health specialist to ensure comprehensive support.

Yes, UrgentMD has a substantial network of specialists both in and around Westmount Square, as well as throughout the island of Montreal. Our service includes a referral from our healthcare practitioners, with coordination handled by our reception team when applicable.

No, UrgentMD is not equipped to handle life-threatening emergencies such as heart attacks or severe injuries. For any life-threatening conditions, please call 911 immediately and proceed to the nearest hospital.

Billing and Insurance

At UrgentMD, payment can be made in several convenient ways:

– Corporate Members: Payments can be processed through corporate credit cards, cheques, and Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs).

– Non-Corporate Members: Acceptable methods include credit cards and cheques.

Please note that while we facilitate these payment methods, we do not process insurance claims directly, but we can provide necessary documentation for members to claim reimbursement from their insurance providers.

UrgentMD membership fees may be tax-deductible as a medical expense. We recommend consulting with your tax advisor to confirm eligibility based on your specific circumstances.

Our membership covers a wide range of services for non-life-threatening conditions. However, certain specialized services, lab tests, or procedures not included in the membership plan may incur additional costs. We’ll inform you of any extra charges beforehand so there are no surprises.

Yes, appointments with your family physician must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within less than 24 hours will incur a fee of $49.

Accessibility and Resources

Yes, you can access your medical records at any time. Simply request your records from your doctor at UrgentMD, and we will provide you with the necessary information.

UrgentMD is conveniently located in Westmount Square and is accessible via Atwater Metro. We offer parking options for our visitors, with validated parking for one hour for all our members. Additionally, there is underground parking available, as well as street parking for walk-ins.

Yes, UrgentMD has partnered with TELUS Health to provide Virtual Care services for all our members, available 24/7, 365 days a year at no additional charge. This service extends to your entire household, ensuring that you and your family have access to healthcare whenever you need it.

UrgentMD offers urgent care services in English, French and Spanish with support available in other languages.
